A group of dedicated Middle School students proudly represented St. Mark's Cathedral School at the ArtBreak Festival’s Battle of the Books competition, securing a 5th place finish. The Battle of the Books encourages students to deepen their reading comprehension, engage in meaningful book discussions, and express their understanding through creative audio-visual presentations.
Led by Mrs. Emily Vigen, who taught a dedicated Battle of the Books elective, participants Scott F. '26, Bella Grace H. '27, Stafford M. '26, Emily Allison S. '27, Cannon T. '26, and Lilly V. '27 each read at least three of eight books in preparation for the literacy-based competition, which consisted of multiple challenges designed to test students’ grasp of the material in both traditional and creative ways, reinforcing the importance of reading and collaborative learning.
