Outside of school, April enjoys spending time with her family, running, creating, and bringing new ideas to life. A fun fact: she worked as an extra in several productions filmed in Shreveport during the "Hollywood South" era, including The Great Debaters, Olympus Has Fallen, and Skateland.
"The older I get, the more I realize that life isn't about discovering my own purpose, it's about saying yes to God's," says April. "I simply see myself as someone invited to participate in His work: to love people well, to serve faithfully, and to trust that even the smallest acts of obedience can become part of something eternal."
April is excited to invest in the same community that is helping shape the hearts and minds of her own children and looks forward to growing alongside St. Mark's families. She hopes her students will describe her as kind, loving, and fun.
