Parents' Club hosts sixth annual Paw Print Sprint 5k & Fall Fest
The St. Mark's Cathedral School Parents' Club held the sixth annual Paw Print Sprint 5k & Fall Fest on October 29 to benefit the school. Despite the threat of inclement weather, many runners still completed the 5k road race through the Highland neighborhood, and even more enjoyed the indoor fall fest activities.
Prior to the start of the race, Dean Alston Johnson led participants in an opening prayer, and St. Mark's sixth grader Shea W. sang the national anthem. Michael Bertsch was the 5k overall male winner, finishing in 17:16.6, and Shelley Armstrong was the top female finisher, clocking in at 20:31.9.
The family-friendly festivities continued with a Halloween post-race fall fest featuring a trunk or treat, music by DJ Slim, a costume contest, inflatables, pumpkin crafts, a balloon artist, Cotton Candy Crush, Dillas Quesadillas, Taziki's Mediterranean Cafe, and a patch of decorated pumpkins on display for all to enjoy.
