It was a beautiful day for the fifth annual Paw Print Sprint on October 30 held by the St. Mark's Cathedral School Parents' Club to benefit the school. The event began with a half-mile fun run, followed by a 5K road race through the Highland neighborhood.

Prior to the start of the race, Dean Alston Johnson led participants in an opening prayer, and St. Mark's eighth grader Addison D. sang the national anthem. Michael Bertsch was the 5K overall male winner, finishing in 17:05.1, and Shelley Armstrong was the top female finisher, clocking in at 20:21.6. 

The family-friendly festivities continued with a Halloween post-race party featuring a trunk or treat, music by DJ Slim, a costume contest, face painting, inflatables, a book fair sidewalk sale, Angelo's Deli, Kona Ice, and a patch of decorated pumpkins on display for all to enjoy. Attendees also had the opportunity to donate blood in honor of St. Mark's parent Brandon Shoalmire through the LifeShare Bus.
