Two St. Mark's Cathedral School alumni and one current student were recognized for their work on the short film They Grow Up So Fast at the 2022 Louisiana Film Prize, which took place from October 20-22.

Written and directed by St. Mark's alumnus John Beach '92, They Grow Up So Fast was selected as one of twenty short films to be screened at Film Prize out of over one hundred submissions and ultimately was named the Grand Prize Winner and the recipient of the $50,000 cash grand prize. John also earned Best Performance for his starring role in the film. His sister/St. Mark's alumna Gaynanette Beach Alexander '93 and her husband David served as Executive Producers, and St. Mark's sixth grader Thatcher P. '25 was part of the cast.
