Local high school students competed in the annual Northwest District Literary Rally held at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches on February 4. Each year, more than a quarter of a million Louisiana high school students participate in nine District Rallies held throughout the state by the Louisiana High School Rally Association (LHSRA) to promote keen competition and to recognize academic excellence. Top performers then advance to the Louisiana State Rally.

This year, six St. Mark's Cathedral School alumni qualified for State Rally, which will take place on March 4 at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
