On July 29, St. Mark's officially graduated the eighth grade Class of 2020 during a ceremony that looked different this year due to restrictions in place during the COVID-19 pandemic. Graduates and their families were invited for personal diploma presentations throughout the day outside of St. Mark's Cathedral with Head of School Dr. Chris Carter, School Chaplain Fr. Drew Christiansen, and Middle School Director Allison Nolen. In addition to their diplomas, members of the Class of 2020 received several traditional St. Mark's keepsakes—a framed St. Mark's Cathedral School prayer, a monogrammed money clip and purple striped tie/bow tie (boys) or a silver tussy mussy (girls)—as well as masks monogrammed with "SMCS 2020" and this year's yearbook.

In a prerecorded graduation video, Dr. Carter offered remarks about the Class of 2020, highlighting the year that each student entered St. Mark's. He then introduced the 2020 student speakers, Sarah R. and Tripp R., who offered inspiring words to their classmates. Following the student speeches, the recipients of this year's graduation awards were announced:

The Bradley Award: Amari J.
Awarded annually by the Middle School faculty, this award honors Olivia Bradley, longtime French teacher and Middle School Director, for her commitment in helping students navigate the challenge of life in the middle and for her commitment to St. Mark's Cathedral and School. This award recognizes a student who has demonstrated significant personal growth throughout his or her Middle School years either academically, socially, or spiritually and who has demonstrated a significant commitment to St. Mark's, perhaps in ways which are not always noticed.

Head of School Award: Michael B.
The Head of School Award is given to the graduating eighth grade student who has maintained the highest grade point average throughout his or her Middle School years.

The Dean's Award: Taylor G.
The Dean's Award, chosen by the faculty, is the most prestigious award at St. Mark's Cathedral School. It is awarded to a graduating eighth grade student who has attended sixth through eighth grades at St. Mark's and throughout his or her time at our school has consistently embodied the values of the school through commitment to the highest standards of personal integrity, consistent academic effort, and concern for others.

The video concluded with the traditional Class of 2020 slideshow of photos and high school choices, as well as a thank you and best wishes to parents whose last child graduated from St. Mark's:
