Cross Country

2024-2025 registration is open!

All students in 5th-8th grade are invited to join the St. Mark’s cross country team! Cross country and running in general is a very challenging yet rewarding sport. Not only does this lifelong sport have numerous health benefits, but it also teaches kids to overcome obstacles and to set and accomplish goals.

Practice Schedule

Practices will be held every Thursday, starting September 5 from 3-4 p.m. When school lets out, runners are to quickly change and meet at the bleachers on the Big Field for the start of practice.

Tentative Spring Race Schedule

St. Mark's will compete against other area private schools in a series of one-mile races, including a Bragging Rights Championship each semester. Below is the tentative fall race calendar:

Thursday, October 17 - Stoner Boat Launch (Clyde Fant)
Wednesday, October 23 - Stoner Boat Launch (Clyde Fant)
Saturday, October 26 - St. Mark's Paw Print Print (register online)
Tuesday, October 29 - Stoner Boat Launch (Clyde Fant)
Thursday, November 7 - Bragging Rights Championship Meet at Stone Boat Launch (Clyde Fant)

Registration Fee

If your runner is interested in joining the St. Mark’s cross country team for the 2024-2025 season, there is a $30 fee. This fee covers race fees and expenses as well as a t-shirt. If your runner can only run in the spring, it is important to register them now so that their shirt can be ordered. The $30 fee covers the entire school year.
